The actress Angelina Jolie (47) filed a counterclaim against her ex-husband, the actor Brad Pitt (58). In doing so, the actress revealed new details about what she described in court documents as his abuse on a private jet in 2016, which allegedly led to the breakup of their marriage.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday by Angelina's lawyers in Los Angeles, alleges an argument on a plane on Sept. 14, 2016, which led to her filing for divorce days later.

– When one of the children verbally defended Jolie, Pitt lunged at his own child, and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him. To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the plane's seats, injuring Jolie's back and elbow. The children rushed inside and all valiantly tried to protect each other. Before he was done, Pete began choking one of the children and punched another in the face. Some kids begged Pete to stop. Everyone is terrified - it is written in the new submission.

The documents allege that during the "many tense hours" of the flight, Pitt "occasionally came out of the back of the plane to yell and curse at them" and "at one point poured beer on Jolie and at another children in beer and red wine." The documents mention the "traumatic breakup of their family" and note that Jolie has "never spoken publicly about the events that led to their separation."

Jolie "went to great lengths to protect her children from reliving the pain that Pitt inflicted on the family that day," the document says, "but when Pitt sought to re-establish control over Jolie's financial life and forced her to re- calm down, he forced Jolie to defend herself publicly on those issues for the first time."

Pitt's lawyers have not yet spoken out about these serious allegations by the actor's ex-wife.
