At the beginning of the year, the new decision on communal order entered into force in Split, which prescribes higher penalties for violators, so it can be expected that there will be no tourists in bathing suits on the streets this summer, because if they are "caught" by communal order, they will they are subject to a fine of 150 euros.

The same penalty is prescribed for those who drink alcohol in public places, and the penalty for walking a dog without a leash is in accordance with the decision on the conditions and method of keeping pets and amounts to 66,36 euros for a natural person, reports Hina.

Residents of Split and their guests will be monitored on the streets by more than 20 communal security guards, and another 12 will be waiting in the city administration building.

Since August 2020, the city of Dubrovnik has had a similar communal order decision, and last year the first tourists who were caught in bathing suits paid fines of 1.000 kuna to communal wardens.

The new Split decision on communal order was adopted at the last session of the City Council in 2022, and came into force at the beginning of this year.
