New headaches for Laporta, Barça is left without a major sponsor
The Japanese online shopping company Rakuten has decided to end its partnership with Barcelona as the main sponsor of the club's jersey, further raising the concerns of the club's president, Joan Laporta. reported the Spanish media.
Rakuten and Barcelona started cooperation in 2017 by signing a three-year contract, according to which the Japanese company pays 55 million euros per season for the sponsorship of the jersey.
In October 2020, the contract was extended, but the sponsorship amount was reduced to 30 million euros per year.
The sponsorship inscription on the sleeve of the jersey, which advertises the Turkish manufacturer of white goods "Beko", will also be changed.

Despite this, Barcelona has several sponsorship offers on the table and hopes to sign better contracts.
It is speculated that the club could sell the rights to the name of the stadium "Camp Nou" and thus gain additional funds.
