The new season of the Philharmonic will take place with the motto "Damar na slobodata"

Press conference for the new Philharmonic season

With the concert entitled "Zornina" on October 6, the new concert season of the Philharmonic opens with the motto "Damar na slobodata", and the top pianists Alexey Volodin and Edith Peña will perform at the opening, while the conductor is maestro Gudni A. Emilsson from Iceland.

Three piano concertos and the overture from the opera "The Marriage of Figaro" by the genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are on the program that will open the Philharmonic's new season 6/2022 on October 2023.

Then will follow the concert entitled "Dalga", which will be performed in Skopje on October 12, and the Philharmonic Orchestra will also visit Belgrade on October 16. The conductor of that concert is maestro Gabriel Bebeshelea, and Rafael Aguirre from Spain will perform as a soloist. The program includes works by Petrovsky, Rodrigo and Tchaikovsky.

– Every concert season has a new name. We titled this music season "Freedom Road", and our inspiration was the last concert in the previous season, which was titled "Freedom". The title arose from the freedom brought by a kind of exit from the pandemic, but also as freedom in music, expression, living. In the new season, we will be guided by the damar, that is, the "pulse" of freedom. The titles of the concerts are inspired by archaic words in the Macedonian language, with which we want to emphasize some forgotten words from the rich treasury of our language - said Tina Ivanova, director of the Philharmonic, at a press conference where the new season was announced.

Until the end of the season, the audience will have the opportunity to follow a series of interesting concerts with exciting soloists and conductors and listen to a delicately selected program. Until the end of the year, the conductors Kondrad van Alphen, Emil Tabakov, Borjan Tsanev, Viktor Mitrevski will perform with the Philharmonic Orchestra, and a number of Macedonian soloists will perform as soloists - violinists Vladimir Kostov and Daniel Lazarevski, harpsichordist Cvetanka Sozovska, tenor Blagoj Nacoski...

The titles of the concerts are drawn from the rich treasury of archaisms in the Macedonian language - "Vida", "Azno", "Medja", "Dalga"...

Within the program until the end of this year is the "Magic Voice" concert for children, as well as the "Homage to Maestro Aleksandar Jambazov" concert, which will be realized in the program of the "Days of Macedonian Music" festival.

For the first time in a long time, the Philharmonia will also collaborate with the NOB, with whose ensembles they will together perform Verdi's "Requiem" at the "May Opera Evenings", as well as Zbinjev Preisner's music from the film "Three Colors: Blue" by director Krzysztof Kieslowski.

At the opening of the new concert season "Damar na slobodata", the new CD "Philharmonia in the Heart", released by "Con:tempo" in cooperation with the RSM Philharmonia, will be promoted.

In cooperation with the Cinematheque, the anthology cinematographic work of the director Milos Forman - the film "Amadeus", dedicated to the genius composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, will be shown on October 5.
