In the Macedonian National Theater on April 26, at 20 p.m., the play "Lady Macbeth", the latest choreographic creation by Risima Risimkin and the Skopje Dance Theater, will premiere.

The music for the play was made by the composer Toni Kitanovski, the scenography is by Matea Mijanović, and the costumes are by Blagoj Micevski. Anastasia Danchevska plays the title role as Lady Macbeth, and Dejan Bitrovski plays the role of Macbeth. The Witch, or Lady Macbeth's alter ego, is Boban Ruseski, The Witch, or Macbeth's alter ego, is Sarah Cvetkovska.

Monica Sholevska, Klara Hristovska, Stefani Schaarschmidt, Joana Blagadusha, Mikaela-Angela Gligorova and Angela Petrevska, from the Department of Dance at "Goce Delchev" University, perform the roles of Witches. Assistant tutor of the play is Adriana Danchevska.

Risima Rysimkin's play Lady Macbeth deals with the psychological profile of the title character. It is an intimate history, without a narrative story, pictures and sketches about the dilemmas of existence.

The play has been selected for the prestigious "Shakespeare Fringe Festival" in Verona, Italy, where on August 29 of this year, it will have its world premiere at the "Teatro Camploy". Meanwhile, "Lady Macbeth" has already been invited to perform on the stages of several theaters and festivals across the country.

Risima Risimkin is one of the leading choreographers in the country and dean of the Film Academy and the Department of Contemporary Dance at Gotse Delchev University. In 2022, she had a historic guest appearance and presentation of the Skopje Dance Theater on one of the world's most important stages, the National Contemporary Dance Theater "Chaillot" in Paris, France, where the critics rated her play "Identities - History of a Stretched Dream" as brilliant.

Rysimkin with his choreographies, among others, performs at festivals and theater stages in New York (USA), The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam (Netherlands), Beijing and Chuangzhou (China), London (Great Britain), as well as at festivals and theaters throughout the region and in the country.

Rysimkin is the founder of "Dance Fest" and the Skopje Dance Theater and has been developing the domestic contemporary dance scene for the past thirty or more years. She is the founder of the first curriculum for contemporary dance at the university level, which she forms in cooperation with the "Kodarts" university from the Netherlands, and through which she creates new contemporary dancers and choreographers in our country, which she places on the domestic and foreign stage through the productions of " Interart cultural center", which has been led by Matea Mijanović since 2019.

Skopje Dance Theater is the first official contemporary dance company in our country, founded in 2011 and led by choreographer Risima Risimkin, as founder and artistic director. The company continuously works actively on the creation, promotion and presentation of contemporary dance art in our country, as well as its placement on the world dance scene.

The work of this theater promotes new aesthetics in our country and deals with research and production in the field of contemporary dance. The Skopje Dance Theater has performed over 70 productions in the past ten years. The company performs at festivals all over the world, for which it receives excellent reviews and is recognized as a high-quality company at the world level.
