The new US aid to Ukraine will not fundamentally change Kiev's position on the battlefield

The new American aid to Ukraine will not fundamentally change Kiev's position on the battlefield, writes the "Wall Street Journal".

"Given Ukraine's difficult position on the battlefield and the successes achieved by Russian soldiers in recent months, it is unlikely that the new aid will radically change the fate of Kiev," the newspaper writes.

The article reminds that Ukraine is facing a serious shortage of people as well as shells.

According to the paper, the new US aid package could, at best, help Ukraine fend off Russian attacks and "hold territory" until European allies are able to provide more aid to the country next year.

The US House of Representatives last night passed a bill that provides Ukraine, Israel and US allies in the Indo-Pacific region with additional financial resources totaling $95 billion. The US Senate should also vote on the law.
