"After taking the pill, her head started to droop and she struggled to keep her head up and stay awake. She felt nauseous and dizzy. She said: 'I want to go home now,'" the press release said.
The lawsuit describes in graphic detail the allegations of how Cosby raped Valentino, claiming that "the victim was unable to consent because Cosby had drugged her and she was physically helpless."
Valentino filed suit under a new California law that gives residents three years to file civil sexual assault lawsuits that would otherwise be barred by the statute of limitations.
According to the lawsuit, she is seeking general, special and punitive damages, as well as attorney's and court fees.
Andrew Wyatt, Cosby's attorney, said it was "deeply troubling and disappointing that our lawmakers pushed through these 'backward glances,' which are a clear violation of all of America's constitutional rights." Statutes of limitations are contained in the Constitution to protect those who are victims of crime and to protect those who are accused of crime. Unfortunately, these 'hindsights' are revived as our political figures are driven by the lure of clicks, likes and followers to advance their political aspirations."

Wyatt adds that Victoria Valentino's claims are "without any evidence or facts" and claims there are "inconsistencies in her numerous statements."
"The trauma he caused me not only affects me, but also my children and grandchildren. By breaking my silence and speaking my truth, I hope this will serve as my legacy to my family and show survivors who have yet to find their voice that hope and healing are possible," Valentino said in a statement released by her lawyer shared.
