The American president Joe Biden he jokingly told his colleagues that the key to a long and happy marriage is good sex, which, among other things, is discussed in the new book about American first ladies, writes "Reuters".

"American Woman: The Transformation of the Modern First Lady – From Hillary Clinton to Jill Biden" is a book by the New York Times White House Correspondent, Katie Rogers. In the piece, which was published this week, the segment about Biden's sex life is only a few paragraphs long, but it has already prompted the media to write interesting headlines.

Rogers writes that Biden decided not to run for president in 2004, and he announced the decision to aides after Jill Biden walked into the room, wearing a crop top and the message "NO" scrawled across her stomach.

Biden, now 81, told a group of supporters at the time that he wasn't too interested in running for president.

"I'd rather stay at home and make love to my wife while my kids sleep," he said.

His spokesman only dismissed his boss's comment, revealing that then-Senator Biden was "genuinely and completely in love with his wife," Rogers writes in his book.

The book also talks about the suffering that the current American president went through when his first wife Neilia and daughter Naomi died in a car accident in 1972. He married Jill in 1977, but Rogers writes that he had to propose five times before she agreed.
