The American singer Taylor Swift she turned down an offer to perform at the coronation of the British king Charles the Third in May of this year, according to the new book "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival" by Omid Skobi.

And the British singer Elton John did not perform due to scheduling problems, his representative told US Weekly. The author of the book added that "Spice Girls", Harry Styles и Adele, reportedly refused to appear before the British king.
Among the entertainers who performed at the event were: Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie, Andrea Bocelli and the group "Take Death".
Shortly before the performance, Perry expressed his gratitude in interview on "Entertainment Tonight".
"I met the future British king a few years ago and he appointed me as one of the ambassadors for his organization, which helps fight child trafficking. "Also, I am a UNICEF ambassador and that is in line with my values," said the singer.
And Lionel Richie was also proud of his participation at the coronation.
"I am delighted to be a part of this historic event. I am very excited to be here, I experienced history," he said.
