New protest of employees in Culture: Besimi to increase our salaries as in his ministry

And at today's protest, employees from the Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Film Agency requested a meeting with the Minister of Finance. Fatmir Besimi, to hear their requests. They have once again sent an appeal to increase their salaries by 30 percent, following the example of the salary increase in the Ministry of Finance.
- For four days, Minister Besimi spared ten minutes of his time, from his agenda, to honor us with his attention to listen to our requests. Another manifestation of the unequal attitude of the authorities towards the employees in the public sector. Another confirmation that employees in certain ministries are more important than others. Another confirmation that there is no will to solve things, but to impose solutions that are favorable for some, but not for others - said the president of the UPOZ Union at the Ministry of Culture, Branko Kostovski, at today's protest.
He added that the Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Film Agency have not concluded any collective agreement at the employer level. According to him, 70 percent of employees in the Ministry, that is, 90 percent in the Administration, have a below average salary in the country.
- The collective agreement that was indicated yesterday by the President of the Government refers to the employees in the institutions in the field of culture, and not to the employees in the Ministry, the Agency and the Administration. We are looking for a dignified valuation of our work, we are looking for a 30 percent salary increase following the example of the salary increase in the Ministry of Finance, we are looking for what we deserve - added Kostovski.
He indicated that they will not deviate from their demands. As he said, they are ready for dialogue, but in the absence of it, they will be forced to look for new ways to express their dissatisfaction.
