The deficit in the energy system of Ukraine has increased to 27 percent this morning and emergency shutdowns are in force throughout the country, the Ukrenergo company said.

The increase in the deficit happened due to the emergency shutdown of blocks in several power plants, and at the same time the consumption of electricity continues to increase due to the deterioration of weather conditions, local media reported.

Ukraine has been facing restrictions since Russian forces began attacking the country's infrastructure, mainly energy, on October 10.
