A White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre, said today that the United States has no indication that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons in the war with Ukraine.

- We here take any nuclear weapon or the threat of its use very seriously, but I want to say that we have seen no reason to adapt our own strategic nuclear stance, nor do we have any indications that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons, said Jean- Pierre.

At the same time, an unnamed NATO official said the alliance had not noticed any changes in Russia's nuclear posture.

"We have not seen any changes in Russia's nuclear posture, but NATO and allies remain vigilant," he pointed out.

The President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin in last week's address to the nation, he emphasized that his country has "various destructive weapons" and that "it will use all available means".
