Nikoloski: If the government immediately pays the subsidies to the tobacco growers, a big protest will follow
VMRO-DPMNE Vice President Aleksandar Nikolovski at a meeting with citizens in Prilep expressed satisfaction with, as he said, the large investment activity with construction and rehabilitation of streets and water supply systems and the completion of the bazaar, and praised the other mayors of the fourth constituency.
- I would like to comment on two central topics. The first is related to agriculture and farmers. I would like to appeal for the tobacco subsidies to be paid because the tobacco growers deserve it. We know what happened with the purchase last year when the tobacco classes were not valued as it should be and when it was not paid as much as the real value of the tobacco, and additionally the basic prices were lowered, and that is not to be taken into account. pay subsidies, I think it is a conscious allusion to farmers and tobacco production. Because the government does not want to stop the import of tobacco and rejected our draft law which proposed to ban the import of tobacco in Macedonia until the full production of domestic tobacco is purchased. They gave different explanations why there should be imports, but in essence why Macedonian farmers see why there should be imports by not having regular purchases and by not being able to live and function decently normally - said Nikolovski.
As a second thing, he called on the citizens in three weeks to go to, as he said, a large public rally where tens, and maybe hundreds of thousands of citizens are waiting in front of the Government and where they will demand early parliamentary elections.
- I would like to invite all citizens from here from Prilep, but also from all over Macedonia to join us. I hope that this rally will be an awareness for SDSM and DUI, and after that we will sit down and agree on a date for early parliamentary elections as the only solution to get out of this crisis. Too much time is lost. From April, we appeal to sit down and talk and form four teams in the four painful areas, namely finance, the dispute with Bulgaria and European integration, health and of course education. But, unfortunately, there is no answer from SDSM and DUI. "This rally is a serious warning and a message that is the wish of the people and then we will go to the early parliamentary elections," he said.
