One of the key members of former US President Donald Trump's cabinet, Nikki Haley, will run for US President from the ranks of the Republicans in 2024, the US media announced today.Post and Courier".

Haley, who served as Trump's ambassador to the United Nations for two years, said she would formally announce her candidacy on February 15.

Trump said in November that he was pushing for his new pick for the White House, and so far he is the only serious candidate who has said he is definitely in the running.

Haley, 51, presented himself as part of a new generation of Republican leaders.

Haley, according to a Morning Consult poll, is averaging just three percent in Republican primary polls for the 2024 presidential election, behind Trump at 48 percent, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at 31 percent and Trump's vice president, Mike Pence, as well. so with a single digit number.

Before joining the Trump administration, Haley spent six years as governor of South Carolina, and in 2016, when Trump won the presidency, she endorsed Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio in the Republican primary.
