Amazing story: Ukrainian goalkeeper swam a river to sign for a club from Belarus
The Ukrainian goalkeeper Denis Shelikhov signed for the team of Slavia Mozhur from Belarus and this information would not be any special news if it is not known what the goalkeeper did to realize this transfer.
Namely, as reported by the Ukrainian media, he crossed the border between the states illegally after swimming across the Tisza river, which is also called the "river of death".
This river is one of the places through which the Ukrainians try to leave the country, and Shelihov apparently took advantage of that. The goalkeeper spent two months preparing to swim across the river and trained with special equipment.
Two days ago he was officially presented in the ranks of his club. Journalists at the press conference tried to find out more from him about this situation, but the goalkeeper refused to speak on that topic.
"Don't ask me such questions." You are not the ones I have to answer to on that topic. If you want to know something more, go to the border service," Shelihov told reporters.
