The measures proposed by the Commission on Infectious Diseases to test unvaccinated administrators once a week for covitis at their own expense are unlikely to experience the light of day. The Minister of Health Venko Filipce announced that those proposals will be discussed at tomorrow's government session, but that the analyzes showed that in the countries where they are implemented in the region, these measures did not contribute to increasing the scope for vaccination.

Instead of choosing vaccination or PCR testing for administrators, now with a new measure an attempt will be made to increase the number of vaccinated citizens in the country. The family doctors who will succeed in convincing 70 percent of their patients to be vaccinated, will receive a 30 denars bonus for a vaccinated patient.

The Minister of Health Venko Filipce said that the family doctors are in constant communication with the supported patients and it would be good with constant appeals and calls to call them to be immunized.

- Previously proposed measures are difficult to implement. We conducted studies, analyzed what is required in each of the neighboring countries and where the effect of the measures. Our findings are that there is no significant increase in vaccinations in these countries due to restrictive measures. However, we will discuss them at the government meeting, said Filipce, adding that the focus will be greater on the measure to stimulate family doctors with bonuses, which no one has officially complained about so far, and many have supported it.

The current epidemiological situation from the last two weeks shows that the two-week incidence is reduced, which is felt with the release of hospital facilities where there is no pressure for hospitalizations. The Minister also said that the recommendation for vaccination will not be changed 45 days after vaccination and that citizens should not test for antibodies before vaccination.

The Commission on Infectious Diseases decided not to introduce any restrictive additional measures because the omicron variant has appeared in several European countries.

- We talked about the new strain detected in South Africa. Some countries take restrictions. We remain unchanged. We think that there is not enough information even that the variant is more portable. Therefore closing borders or quarantine for passengers will not work. The strain has been detected in European countries and cannot be prevented from entering the territory. We stay with vaccination, PCR testing and in that way we protect ourselves. We will follow the situation, but for now I think there is no need for restrictions, said Filipce.
