Netanyahu: The return of the Israelis to the northern part of the country is also a military goal
The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared that the government's military goal is also the return of the population in the northern part of the country, from where they fled due to attacks by the Lebanese Hezbollah.
- The government's policy and security council decided to include the safe return of residents from the north to their homes in military purposes, Netanyahu said.
Israeli forces and the Iranian-backed Lebanese armed group have been under attack almost daily since the war in the Gaza Strip began. Hundreds of people died in the violence, on both sides. Because of the clashes, tens of thousands of residents left their homes on both sides of the border.
The purpose of Hezbollah's attacks is to support Hamas in its war against Israel.
