Netanyahu says Israel will do anything to defend itself against Iran
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that diplomacy has failed to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear capabilities and that his country will do whatever is necessary to defend itself against Iran.
In an interview with Sky News, Netanyahu rejected US efforts to resolve the crisis only through dialogue.
"I don't think that diplomacy alone will succeed. It can only succeed if combined with a credible military threat or the will to implement the military option if intimidation fails," the Israeli leader said.
He warned that "Iran is openly committed to annihilating, repeating the Holocaust and annihilating six or seven million Israeli Jews" and that it would not sit idly by and let the Iranians do it.
"The Ayatollahs think they can threaten us with a nuclear holocaust." They are wrong. We will do whatever it takes to defend ourselves," Netanyahu said.
The Israeli prime minister also commented on speculation about a potential peace deal with Saudi Arabia and said that the country is of vital importance and that there are "great opportunities to advance peace in the region."
"I think it would change history," Netanyahu said, explaining that Saudi Arabia is not only the most influential Arab country in the Arab world, but also in the Muslim world, and peace with it would contribute to the end of the Israeli-Arab conflict and help resolve it. of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Netanyahu also spoke about the demonstrations against his government's proposed judicial reforms in Israel and the compromise talks, saying he was not sure there would be a compromise.
