Unusual theft of 16 valuable paintings in Skopje "Matica"

Sixteen very valuable paintings by the author Pavle Kuzmanovski were stolen this weekend from the bookstore "Matica" in Skopje.

The owner of "Matica", Rade Siljan He told "Free Press" that on Saturday, five paintings were first stolen, and after the police inspection, around five o'clock when no one was in the building, thieves broke in again and stole 11 more works of art. The theft was committed only two days after the start of the open exhibition of paintings.

- After the great theft in the seventies of the last century of the work of Picasso from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Macedonia, today we are witnessing the theft of extremely valuable works of art by our great painter. It is about 16 of his rare works in oil technique, pastels, watercolors and drawings in the shower on the topic "Urban landscapes created in the last 60 years. On Sunday morning, around 3.15 am, the same picture. A total of 16 paintings were confiscated on both occasions, six on Saturday and another 10 on Sunday. We will wait for the results of the investigation and we hope that the perpetrators will be found and punished and the pictures will be returned - stated by Matica Exclusive.
