The Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia for Economic Affairs, Coordination of Economic Departments and Investments, Fatmir Bitiqi, was a guest on the show "Zoom in" on the regional television "Bloomberg Adria" where he spoke about the need to import labor as an inevitable solution about the labor shortage facing our country.

Vice Prime Minister Bitici emphasized that the time has come to open the discussion about the need for additional labor on the labor market.

In the conversation, Bitici said that while we are already working on retraining and retraining a certain group of unemployed people in North Macedonia in order to adapt them to the needs of the market, we will have to find a way to supplement the outflow of workers.

"There is a lack of manpower on the labor market and we must respond to that challenge if we want to have accelerated economic growth," Bitici said.

When asked if in that 14 percent unemployment we cannot find the qualified staff that the companies are looking for, and take them from there instead of looking for the import of labor, the vice prime minister answered that we are primarily looking for labor from those who are actively seeking work, but everyone's conclusion is that we still have a shortage of labor force, but also in some sectors specifically qualified labor force.
