The president of US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi said he intends to run again for a seat in the US House of Representatives in November.

"Although we have made progress, much more needs to be done to improve people's lives. "This election is crucial: nothing less than our democracy," Pelosi said in a statement and a video posted on Twitter.

"But we do not bother - we organize," Pelosi added. "I am running for re-election in Congress to stand up for the people and to defend democracy.

Pelosi, 81, has represented his constituency in San Francisco for more than 30 years.

As Speaker of the House of Representatives, she holds it the third highest elected office in the United States behind the president and vice president. Pelosi is considered an important ally of President Joe Biden, his fellow Democrat. Filling all the seats in the House of Representatives and about one-third of the seats in the US Senate will return to the election agenda in November.

Democrats hope to defend or increase their narrow majority in both houses. However, opinion polls are currently giving Republicans a good chance of securing a majority.
