There is no stagnation or selectivity in the conclusion of contracts between companies and ESM for cheaper electricity, says the Prime Minister

There is no standstill, nor selectivity for the contracts between ESM and the companies that applied for cheaper electricity from December 1, stated today from Shtip, the President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovacevski, answering a journalist's question about the reactions of the companies that applied, and still they did not conclude the contracts.

- We had a press conference on Thursday where we announced how many companies have already concluded contracts, and to all the others who failed to complete the documentation, because it is processed immediately, and given that they submit it electronically, and then for the sake of speed submit in written form, they will be able to do it already for the next month, so there is no stoppage, there is no selectivity, but on the contrary, there is interest from the state, companies that are part of the production of basic food products, schools - the basic , the middle ones should join this market as soon as possible, given that the prices there are twice as cheap and more than twice as cheap as the stock market prices, and this will allow, firstly, a reduction in the prices of food products and secondly, the smooth running of the educational process, and of course and the health process because those companies also took over from ESM sales, says Kovacevski.

The Prime Minister pointed out that they publish all data related to energy in a very transparent manner, because as he says, it is an issue that most concerns both citizens and companies.

- That is why every day the Government publishes data in relation to the production of electricity, in relation to the import of electricity and by all facilities that are state-owned, says Kovacevski.

Asked what the optimism for 2023 is due to, Kovacevski answered that if you look at all the economic policies that the state is making, in just 10 months of the mandate of his Government, there has been an increase in the minimum wage to 18 thousand denars, an increase in pensions by 10 percent so far and with the new increase that will follow in March next year, another six percent and that, as he says, will be the largest historical increase in pensions by 16 percent, which has never happened before.

- The same will be the case with the minimum wage, which due to the methodology that we introduced in March of this year through a conversation with the unions, will have an increase. You see that the average salary rose to over 32 thousand denars for the first time. I am every week at the opening of new production facilities, especially in the TIRZ zones. I'll give you just one piece of information: 10 jobs have been created in the TIRZ zones in these 2.000 months, and six thousand jobs have been created in the 11 years of VMRO-DPMNE rule, so you can see the comparison, Kovacevski says.

He emphasized that when it comes to energy production, energy transformation is taking place in the country. Already, as he said, 27 megawatts of photovoltaic power plants have been commissioned.

- For comparison, 11 megawatts were released in 16 years, now 10 megawatts in 27 months. Following is the release of 130 megawatts that have already been agreed upon in a negative auction that were made during the past period and will already be released and installed in the next two years. A 10-megawatt power plant has already been built on the old deposits of the mine in Oslomej, and a new 100 megawatts already contracted through PPP by ESM are being prepared. You all could see if you were coming from Skopje in Svetinikolsko that wind turbines with a power of 25 megawatts are already being installed and I would just like to conclude that the future of our country is as a full member of the EU with new production facilities, with well-paid jobs and as a center of green energy that will produce electricity from renewable energy sources and thus supply not only our market, but also the region, Kovacevski said.
