You can not halve classes and classes with physical presence

If the Commission maintains that the classes should be halved, we can not say with certainty that we will be able to meet the needs of all enrolled students. However, we do not have enough classrooms to be able to make two from one grade, the principals of some schools are decisive.

If the protocols for attending classes with physical presence are not changed, the realization of the plan from September for all students to return to school will be difficult.

This opinion is shared by several principals of Skopje primary and secondary schools, who in a statement for "Free Press" say that the capacity of schools is constant and unchanged.

The director of the primary school "Blaze Koneski", Suzana Nastovska, says that they are ready to admit students in the fall, but it all depends on the protocol that will be given by the Commission for Infectious Diseases.

- If the Commission remains of the opinion that the classes should be halved, I can not say with certainty that we will be able to meet the needs of all enrolled students in our school. However, we do not have enough classrooms to make two out of one grade. But if it comes to separate entry and exit, disinfectants and organizing the rest in different parts of the day, then we could say that we are ready for classes with physical presence - says Nastovska.

There is a similar opinion the director of the high school "Rade Jovcevski-Korcagin", Dragan Arsovski.

- The epidemiological situation in our high school shows that there is no danger of the virus spreading, there is no new positive or suspicious coronavirus for a whole month. If this remains the case, from September we will be able to provide classes with physical presence for all students. But, if the Commission for Infectious Diseases does not change the current protocols that apply to children from first to third grade, which is to have 15 students in one class, I do not believe that we will be able to have physical presence classes. However, for that to happen, we would have to have twice as many rooms as we do now, and that is not possible - explains Arsovski.

The primary school "Kole Nedelkovski" has the capacity and desire to start classes on September XNUMX.

- In "Kole Nedelkovski" there is an opportunity to respect the protocols. However, this will be determined by a commission that will visit not only ours, but all schools in the country. We will make a schedule in two shifts so that the classes do not have to be followed online. But if the Commission says that only one child should be sitting on a bench, and not two as it was before the pandemic, that would be a problem, says the director of "Kole Nedelkovski", Svetlana Maslarevska.

The health authorities in the country believe that the students can return to school from September, and in two weeks the protocols for the new school year will be completed. The Minister of Health Venko Filipce said that the protocols for the school year are almost ready. It is planned for all children to attend, 100 percent of the total number in the classes. This is how the protocols are prepared.
