"I can not stand it anymore": A man demands to be put in prison to escape from his wife
A man who is under house arrest in Italy appeared in a police station due to criminal acts with another, asked the authorities to put him in prison because life with his wife at home is unbearable, the Italian police announced yesterday, writes SputnikNews.
A 30-year-old Albanian national living in Guidonia Monteselio, outside Rome, "was no longer able to cope with the forced life with his wife," a police statement said.
After appealing to the police for help, he was immediately arrested for violating house arrest, and the judge later ordered that he be transferred to prison.
"Outraged by the situation, he preferred to escape from house arrest, so he turned to the police to ask to serve his sentence behind bars," the statement added.
"The man has been under house arrest for several months for drugs and has several years left to serve his prison sentence," said Captain Francesco Giacomo Ferrante of the Tivoli Carabinieri.
