More than 1.700 Liverpool fans have filed a lawsuit against European football's governing body (UEFA) over the ticket chaos at this year's Champions League final in which the Reds lost to Real Madrid in Paris.

The final, played at the Stade de France in Paris, was delayed by 36 minutes as many Liverpool fans were unable to enter the stadium if they had properly purchased tickets.

The fans of Liverpool therefore demand compensation from UEFA for the psychological and physical injuries they received due to the poor organization.

Law firm Binghams, which represents the majority of Liverpool fans, said it was horrified by the stories of those who tried to enter the stadium on May 28.

– As a long-time Liverpool fan, I was horrified to hear what happened in what should have been the crowning game of the football season. Not only the fans, but also my friends, family members and clients who were at the stadium that day talked about the terrible scenes that happened around the stadium before and even after the game - said one of the lawyers.
