The English teacher from the elementary school "Panajot Ginovski", who was recorded beating a seventh grader, did not come to work today and will be replaced by another teacher, informed the school principal, Kamurane Rexha for TV21, adding that he has not been fired, but that he will not hold classes while waiting for the decision of the disciplinary commission at the school.

She says that so far there have been no complaints against the teacher, who has been teaching at this school for 13 years.

"As a director, I can not make a decision on my own to fire him. I formed a disciplinary commission with teachers from the school, the union and the parents' council. "They will give their opinion and then it will be decided to fire them from school." says Rexha.

The video of the incident, which caused a lot of reactions in the public, was posted on the social network TikTok and it shows the teacher bullying and beating a 13-year-old student in class, in the presence of other students.

Sociologist Ali Pajaziti told TV21 that corporal punishment in schools is unacceptable.

"This phenomenon that happened in schools speaks of a low pedagogical level of teachers. This illustrates the educational crisis that prevails in our education. This has its consequences such as psychological and social. It causes coldness in the teaching process in children. Violence normally causes distance from the school, from all the staff who teach in that institution. "Slaps, fists, sticks and all other physical measures to discipline children are not legitimate and are not a solution in a school environment." pointed out Pajaziti.

The Ministry of Interior says that interviews were conducted with persons related to the case and that the Public Prosecutor is expected to submit an appropriate complaint to the competent prosecutor's office.

"Regarding the case in the school Panajot Ginovski, we inform you that after receiving the report, the necessary measures and activities were taken to clear the case, the persons related to the case were interviewed and upon the instruction of the public prosecutor, an appropriate complaint will be submitted to the competent prosecutor's office." say from the Ministry of Interior.
