A 61-year-old German was arrested after injuring three people with a knife and a hand grenade that he detonated at the entrance of a residential building in Berlin.

He detonated the grenade in the Reinikendorf neighborhood and wounded two women aged 42 and 48, as well as a 61-year-old man, AP reports.

After the detonation, the suspect ran towards the victims and attacked and wounded them with a knife.

All three victims were taken to hospital.

The police briefly detained the attacker near the apartment building.
