Myanmar ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi has had her sentence reduced from four to two years in prison following a partial pardon granted by a military-appointed government, state television said.

Earlier, a court in Myanmar found Suu Kyi, who was ousted in a coup on February 1, guilty of inciting riots and violating restrictions imposed by the coronavirus.

The court ruling sparked condemnation from the international community.
