Birth rate decreased and mortality increased in the third quarter of 2021
The number of live births in the third quarter of 2021, compared to the same period last year, decreased by 3.8 percent and amounted to 5 065, while the number of deaths in the same period this year increased by 30.7 percent compared to the same quarter of 2020 and it is 7209 people, and 14 of them are infant deaths, according to the data of the State Statistical Office, on the natural movement of the population in the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
Thus, the natural increase is -2 144, which means that for so many people the number of live births is lower than the number of deaths.
The number of marriages in this quarter of the year increased by 11.7 percent compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to 4 marriages, while according to the State Statistical Office, 398 divorce reports were received.
