One of the most beautiful Yugoslav actresses, Ena Begovic, on this day 21 years ago, tragically lost his life in a traffic accident near Brac.

The accident happened in the moments of her greatest happiness in life, when she became a mother and enjoyed the first months of her married life. At the age of 40, in the summer of 2000, Ena gave birth to a daughter, Lana.

Croatian actress Ena in the eighties was considered one of the most desirable women in this area, and as it was written, in her life she was only afraid of flying a plane and driving a car.

As her friends later recounted, the actress had a premonition of her death, and the fear was so great that she even sought professional help to get rid of it.

According to those who knew her, the actress' phobia worsened after the car accident she had in 1996, in which a motorcyclist lost his life and her friend was seriously injured.

Ena was also to blame for the accident and was sentenced to three years probation, and from the psychological shock she experienced then, she never recovered.

The greatest support at that time was provided by her husband Josip Radeljak, an entrepreneur and electrical engineer with whom she had a daughter, Lana. Unfortunately, Ena enjoyed motherhood for only a month and a half.

Namely, on August 15, 2000, Ena together with Josip, his son Leo, his mother Teresa and daughter Lana went to visit a friend.

In the town of Split, Leo Radeljak hit a rock and broke the fog light, so he decided to switch with his father and let him drive. When they stopped on a hill and both got out of the vehicle, the car began to slide, so Ena and her mother tried to get out with the baby. However, the jeep ended up in the abyss.

Her mother Teresa then suffered multiple injuries, and little Lana ended up in hospital. Unfortunately, Ena Begovi. Had no escape and soon succumbed to her injuries.

The whole of Yugoslavia then mourned the beautiful and exceptional actress, and then years of court hearings followed and a lot was written about who was actually to blame for the accident. It was mentioned that it might be a factory fault of the car, and the trial lasted until 2007. Leo Radeljak was acquitted of the charge of manslaughter, and it was officially announced that the accident was caused by the faulty transmission of the vehicle.

Ena has a sister Mia, who is a famous Croatian actress, and this is how she talked about her sister a few years ago.

- She was a wonderful sister, at times too caring as a mother. We had a similar attitude towards life and art. She had a factor X and was the only one, a real diva. The blonde looked romantic and gentle anyway, but she had great inner strength - said Mia a few years ago.

Lana is 21 years old today and is a real beauty, and many compare her to the famous mother.

Ena had her first major film role in 1981 in The Fall of Italy. Her most famous role is that of Baroness Castelli in "Glembaev", for which she won the "Golden Arena" in 1988 for an episodic female role, but she refused the award because she considered that role to be the main one.
