The magazine People chooses the sexiest man alive every year, and last year that title went to 57-year-old actor Patrick Dempsey, star of the series "Introduction to Anatomy". Now the actor has spoken out and revealed what it's like to be named the sexiest man alive.

When asked if he took advantage of the prestigious award in any way, he replied: "No, it just made me anxious. "I had to try to stay in shape and exercise even more."

"But it's amazing how far-reaching the impact is," he continued, adding, "I think it was a great opportunity to do something positive ... It gave me a chance to talk about the Dempsey Center, which cares for people with cancer."

"Fame itself is pretty empty, but if you can do something, if you can be useful, that's really what makes life meaningful and brings you joy," added the actor. He also said that it was a great honor for him, but that he doesn't take it that seriously.

“It's really good for the ego, but it's very subjective. "There are so many wonderful men who are attractive in different ways, either physically or because of who they are, so you take it seriously enough to be grateful, but you don't take it too seriously," he said.

Patrick Dempsey has played fifty roles so far, and the most famous was the series "Introduction to Anatomy" in which he plays the neurosurgeon Derek Shepard. From 1987 to 1994 he was married to Rocky Parker, and in 1999 he married Jillian Fink, with whom he has three children.
