At least 4 people died when a restaurant collapsed in Mallorca

At least 4 people died and more than 27 were injured when the terrace of a restaurant collapsed in a two-story building on the Spanish island of Mallorca, rescue services said.

The "Meduza Beach Club" restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Playa de Palma building," a post on the "X" social network explains.

Unofficially, the collapse happened this afternoon in a restaurant located in an area popular with foreign tourists, local media reports.

Several firefighters, police officers and ambulances have been deployed to the scene of the accident.

The Balearic Islands are the second most visited tourist destination in Spain, after Catalonia.

In 2023, according to official figures, they were visited by more than 14 million tourists.
