The best Macedonian tennis player Lina Gjorceska was defeated in the first round of the WTA 125 Challenger tournament in Ljubljana, which is played for a prize fund of 100.000 euros. She was the eighth seed in the first round for her rival Polina Kudermetova from Russia.

The 21-year-old Russian tennis player Kudermetova, who is on the 164th place on the WTA list, won the match 2-0 in sets (6:1 6:2) in an hour of play. One point is awarded for performance in the first round of tournaments of this category.

Otherwise, Gjorcheska will continue with the performances of the tournament because in the doubles competition she is registered to play with Jill Teichman from Switzerland. In the first round, they will play against third-seeded sisters Nadja and Marina Kolb from Ukraine.
