Over a hundred migrants rescued off the Greek island of Gavdos

Yesterday, 40 migrants were rescued in the sea 112 nautical miles south of the Greek island of Gavdos, and with the help of a cargo ship they were all safely transported to Crete.

The day before, 25 migrants were also rescued near Gavdos, two of whom were arrested on suspicion of being smugglers.

Gavdos is the southernmost Greek island and is located south of Crete.
