Organized by the "Academy for Robotics and Innovations" and Gotse Delchev University - Shtip through the Faculty of Informatics, today at the University of Shtip the FIRST LEGO League national competition will be held.

The FIRST LEGO League is an international multidisciplinary research program represented in over 100 countries, involving over 600.000 children and youth from all over the world who work together with their mentors. It also inspires them to explore in STEM fields, such as science, technology and engineering, to solve real-world problems by making real-world projects and create a better future for themselves and others. For this purpose, during the entire duration of the preparations, the participants acquire skills and abilities necessary for life in the 21st century, including creativity, curiosity, critical and entrepreneurial thinking, team spirit, empathy, self-confidence, communication and respect.

This year, the teams will work on today's global challenges related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on providing affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern ENERGY for all.

Participants will need to identify a problem that people face, propose a solution through the creation of an innovative project, show mutual respect and present the basic human skills necessary to achieve this common goal.

In addition, teams have to design, build and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS or LEGO SPIKE PRIME technology and compete with other teams from our country. The team that provides the best results in all categories will have the opportunity to represent the Republic of North Macedonia at the world championship, which this year will be held in Morocco, from May 18 to 21 this year.
