Many Americans are fed up with political news

Media fatigue is not a new phenomenon. A survey by the Pew Research Center at the end of 2019 found that two out of three Americans feel exhausted by the amount of news they receive, the same as in a survey in early 2018. During the 2016 presidential campaign, 60 respondents said they felt overwhelmed by the news surrounding the campaign.

This is especially true for news about politics.

A new poll found that half of Americans feel the need to limit the flow of information related to crime or world wars, while only about 40 percent cut back on news coverage of the economy and jobs.
