Local elections will be held in Kosovo tomorrow, in which citizens will elect mayors and councilors in 38 municipalities, 10 of which are Serb-majority. Serbs have presidential candidates in 11 local governments.

The Serbian List is also running in tomorrow's elections, whose leadership made the final decision to go to the polls today in consultation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

The president of the Serbian List, Goran Rakic, said that The conversation with President Vuќi. was difficult and that arguments are made for and against going to the polls, but that it was decided to participate, in the interest of the Serbian people and to show that the Serbian side does not violate the Brussels Agreement.

The leader of the "Serbian List" called them Serbs in Kosovo to go out en masse in tomorrow's elections, and a few days before the elections, the director of the Office for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic, called on the displaced Serbs from the southern province to come out and vote for the Serb List, and, as he put it, to preserve all ten Serb communities that are "guarantors of the formation of the Union of Serb Municipalities". “.

There are a total of 26 mayoral candidates in ten Serb municipalities in Kosovo, of which 18 are candidates from Serb lists and eight are representatives of Albanian parties.

The Serbian list includes candidates for mayors in 11 municipalities - all with a Serb majority while four candidates running in the elections are independent.

The local leadership is elected for four years, and tomorrow's election, according to analysts, will be the first test for the Albin Kurti Self-Determination Movement, which won the parliamentary elections in February this year, winning more than 50 percent of the vote.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has confirmed 89 political entities that will run in the elections, of which 32 are political parties and coalitions, 33 civic initiatives and 23 independent candidates.

According to the CEC, 1.885.448 citizens have the right to vote tomorrow, and 883 polling stations will be opened with a total of 2.477 polling stations.

A total of 5.364 candidates are running in the local elections, of which 166 are mayors and 5.198 are municipal councilors, according to Kosovo Online.

The local elections in Kosovo will be monitored by 3.352 police officers and 80 prosecutors.

Polling station members and election observers must provide evidence that they have been vaccinated with at least one dose of the vaccine or that they are negative for Covid.
