Italy's football federation has launched an investigation into Juventus after allegations emerged that players at the club were paid different sums than previously reported.

Two days ago, the management of Juventus, led by the president Andrea Agnelli, resigned, and they proposed that the position of president should be taken by an accountant for the club who is better at dealing with financial and legal problems.

The media in Italy write that Juventus may even be kicked out of Serie A.

"Falsification of accounting and administrative documents or any other illegal activities may result in the deduction of points and even expulsion from the league," the media reports.
