VIDEO: Djukanovic handed over "key to the city" in Pristina
The Mayor of Pristina, I prepare Rama, handed over the "key to the city" to the Montenegrin president Milo Djukanovic, who arrived on a two-day official visit to Kosovo, said the MIA correspondent from Pristina.
At a ceremony organized in the Pristina municipality on that occasion, Rama told Djukanovic to feel at home in the Kosovo capital.
-This is the key to the capital, the key to your home. "Feel at home in Pristina, you are always welcome here," Rama said.
The Montenegrin president thanked for the honor and said that "the key is a very nice gift for the friendship between the two countries".
In the first official visit of a Montenegrin statesman to Kosovo, Djukanovic was welcomed this morning with the highest state honors by his Kosovo counterpart, Vjosa Osmani.
At a joint news conference after a bilateral meeting, Djukanovic said his country supported Kosovo on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as its membership in the Council of Europe, which Pristina applied for in Strasbourg last week.
Osmani said that her Montenegrin counterpart had always been friendly towards Kosovo and thanked him for his comprehensive support so far.
The two presidents stressed that they oppose the "Open Balkans" initiative, which is promoted by Northern Macedonia, Serbia and Albania.
Djukanovic also met today in Pristina with the President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca.
