On this day for the first time was produced the favorite "Fico" - the vehicle symbol of Yugoslavia
66 years ago, for the first time on the Yugoslav roads, the endlessly cute vehicle "Zastava 750", or popularly called "Fico", started driving.
Of course, I do not remember the first "Fico", but I know for sure that the whole neighborhood in the early 80 'had one copy. The image of a white fig is like a packed frame of Yugoslav nostalgia.
How did the story begin?
On October 18, 1955, at the Zastava factory in Kragujevac, the first of a total of 923.487 cars was produced for the first time, which quickly became a favorite means of transportation in the former Yugoslavia. This car, which appeared during the industrial development in the former Yugoslavia, was made under the license of the Italian Fiat (or Topolino), after which it is nicknamed.
The licensed Fiat 600, with minor modifications and variations in production, remained so until November 18, 1985, when the last model was produced. The plants in Kragujevac have not made this small, cute car for a long time, but very often on the roads you can see a preserved specimen that many people drive for sentimental reasons.
