The Italian coast guard has found six bodies off the coast of Sicily, believed to be some of the 21 migrants who went missing during a shipwreck earlier this month, Italian media reported today.

The Italian coast guard said on Wednesday that seven men, all Syrian nationals, had been pulled from a half-submerged ship southwest of the island of Lampedusa after a shipwreck.

Survivors told rescuers that they left Libya on September 1 and that 21 of the 28 people on board, including three children, fell into the sea in the storm.
