A famous Australian singer died at the age of 34, the cause of death is still unknown
Jack Colwell, Australian singer-songwriter, dies aged 34 shortly before the release of his long-awaited second album.
This tragic news was also confirmed by the "Guardian" magazine, but the cause of death has not yet been announced.
Although he has only released one album, 2020's Swandream, Jack has played a significant role behind the scenes in the Australian music scene for years, working on various projects, including arranging vocals for indie pop group Architecture in Helsinki. His debut album was a major critical success, with NME naming it one of the best Australian albums of the year.
Jack Colwell was also a passionate advocate for the rights of the LGBT community. In 2016, he released the song "No Mercy" in tribute to Brisbane teenager Tyrone Unsforth, who committed suicide after being bullied for his sexual orientation. Speaking to The Queer AV, Jack emphasized his intolerance of violence and praised the power of his music to counter homophobia.
In his latest post on social media, Jack revealed that he is on the verge of releasing his second album.
- Hello everyone - I'm glad that I will release new music soon - he wrote on Facebook last month.
– The mixes are almost ready and the mastering is scheduled. I've been saying for a while now that LP2 will be at your place soon, and that day is not far off.
