MAFWE: Farmers to apply for agricultural land by July 21, in times of crisis we do not leave even an inch of uncultivated land

Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy (MAFWE) published both additional public announcements which are made available to farmers additional 3.769 hectares of agricultural land with an area of ​​over 3 hectares.

MAFWE announced today that the first public announcement covers 529 hectares of agricultural land over 3 hectares, distributed in 10 regions across the country: Berovo, Vinica, Gevgelija, Debar, Delchevo, Kocani, Negotino, Sveti Nikole, Radovish and Stip. The purpose of the leased land for the first public announcement is the cultivation of agricultural crops for the production of fodder (cereals, fodder and industrial crops) for a period of up to 15 years.

They have the right to participate in this public announcement domestic natural and legal persons and foreign legal entities. The minimum area of ​​state-owned agricultural land that can be leased to one participant is 3 hectares, if the bidder submits a certificate from an authorized veterinary station for disposal of at least five heads of cattle or ungulates, ie 50 sheep or goats, ie 20 pigs. that is, 500 chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks or guinea fowl. The maximum area on which one participant can apply for this public announcement is 20 hectares.

The total area of ​​agricultural land leased with the second public announcement is 3.240 hectares, distributed in 22 regions across the country: Berovo, Valandovo, Vinica, Gostivar, Gevgelija, Delchevo, Demir Hisar, Kocani, Kumanovo, Kavadarci, Negotino, Struga, Strumica, Ohrid, Prilep, Probistip, Radovish, Resen, Tetovo, Veles, Stip and Chair. 

The intended purpose of this announcement is for raising long-term plantations (vineyards, orchards, hops) and greenhouses for up to 30 years, raising long-term hazelnut plantations for up to 70 years, raising olive groves for up to 50 years, setting up beehives families for up to 15 years, meadows for up to 15 years, growing fast-growing trees on agricultural land located at an altitude of over 700 meters, for the period up to 30 years, fishponds up to 20 years and sports and recreational activities and rural tourism up to 30 years.

All domestic natural and legal persons and foreign legal entities have the right to participate in this public announcement. The size of the area that can be leased to one user of this public announcement, is determined based on the minimum material and technical equipment and the number of employees according to the business plan of the bidder.

The deadline for submission of applications is 30 days from the publication of the public announcement in the Official Gazette, ie until July 21, 2022. The procedure for distribution of agricultural land is performed through electronic public bidding.

- We do not leave a single inch of agricultural land uncultivated, especially in times of crisis. All capacities for providing enough food for all citizens have been activated. During this period of crisis, we announced seven public announcements with which we put at our disposal new additional 13.785 hectares of agricultural land up to and over 3 hectares distributed throughout the country, with the purpose of producing cereals, raising long-term plantations and fodder production. pointed out by the Ministry.

Interested farmers and agricultural holdings can apply to these two public announcements for lease of agricultural land over 3 hectares for fodder production and raising long-term plantations.
