The Ministry of Interior hit the angry and reckless drivers: Over 48 citizens were fined in 600 hours

In just two days, more than 600 were fined drivers who as traffic participants did not respect the traffic rules. Ministry of Interior in the days of the weekend continued with the intensified action controls, this time in Skopje where he found and fined 262 drivers. Among those fined are those drivers who drove a car whose speed was higher than allowed. Then came the drivers who drove cars without a driver's license, and a dozen motorcyclists were fined.

With the so-called "Night radar"384 traffic participants were fined in the action that started at 22 pm on Saturday and ended at 4 am the next day. With a specially equipped radar for recording in night conditions, an action control was carried out for sanctioning vehicles moving at a speed higher than the allowed one, whereby 384 drivers were sanctioned. Of these, 48 drivers were driving at speeds above 50 kilometers per hour more than allowed, and nine vehicles were moving at speeds over 70 kilometers per hour more than allowed. 264 drivers exceeded the speed limit in a populated area, and 120 out of a populated area.

In the same period, enhanced action control was carried out on the territory of SIA Tetovo. During the control, the police fined 118 drivers. Of these, 28 vehicles were traveling at speeds above 50 km / h more than allowed, and nine vehicles were moving at speeds over 70 km / h more than allowed. 57 drivers exceeded the speed limit in a populated area, and 61 out of a populated area.

The Ministry of Interior says that there was an action in the settlement as well Chento in Skopje where 66 drivers were detected and fined, and one car and motorcycle were confiscated. Among those fined are those for driving without a driver's license, four people driving unregistered vehicles, three sanctions for a novice driver, two measures for using a mobile phone, and seven motorcyclists were fined for not wearing a helmet.

- On June 26, in the period from 9 am to 15 pm, the mobile unit for road traffic safety conducted an intensified action control on the highway Kumanovo - Skopje - Veles for sanctioning vehicles moving faster than the allowed speed, whereby 98 drivers were sanctioned. Of these, 18 vehicles were moving at a speed of over 50 kilometers per hour more than the allowed, and three vehicles were moving at even over 70 kilometers per hour more than the allowed speed - say the Ministry of Interior for "Free Press".

Assistant Minister of Public Relations in the Ministry of Interior Toni Angelovski stressed that traffic safety is the responsibility of all of us and all together we must increase the level of traffic culture.

"Last 2021 had 116 victims and it is the year with the lowest number of victims in traffic in the last 15 years, and data from the first four months in 2022 show that this year the trend of reducing the number of victims in traffic accidents continues. In the first four months of 2022, there are 26 victims, which is 14 less compared to the same period last year, when there were 40 - said Angelovski.

Angelovski emphasized that in addition to the preventive actions, the intensified action controls for sanctioning those traffic participants who do not respect the rules continue.
