Mutsunski visiting Brussels from tomorrow

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mutsunski, from tomorrow until December 4, will be on a working visit to Brussels for meetings with MEPs and will participate in the regular meeting of the heads of diplomacy of the NATO member states.

As announced by the Ministry, within the framework of the visit, it is planned that Mutsunski will address the members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the European Parliament, as well as hold meetings with the reporter for North Macedonia, Thomas Vaitz, and the shadow reporters for the country, Matej Tonin. (Slovenia, EPP) and Tys Roiten (Netherlands, CD).

The focus of the talks, it is pointed out, will be the need to speed up the European integration process of the country, with an emphasis on the implementation of reforms, as well as our commitment to fulfilling the membership criteria.

At the same time, Mutsunski will take part in the regular meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of NATO member states, which will be held at the headquarters of the Alliance in Brussels, on December 3 and 4, 2024.

According to the agenda, the meeting is scheduled for the ministers to address several important issues related to the current security challenges, with a focus on the southern neighborhood of the Alliance, the current situation in Ukraine and security challenges for the European continent, as a result of the Russian military aggression in Ukraine, which have great implications for Euro-Atlantic security, as well as for the status of the implementation of the decisions taken at the NATO summit in Washington, and in the function of preparations for the summit that will be held next year in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands.

On the sidelines of the ministerial meeting, Minister Mutsunski is scheduled to hold several bilateral meetings with his fellow ministers, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade.
