Possible new solution: Are the police recordings evidence that Johnny Depp's ex-wife lied?

The ambitious divorce lawsuit of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp shows footage that may free the famous actor from accusations.

Johnny Depp says the new testimony of the police officers and the previously unpublished recordings from their cameras prove that Amber Heard is lying about the fight, which ended their 18-month marriage.

Amber and her friends testified several times, saying that Depp threw the phone in her face and broke the kitchen in their apartment during the quarrel in May 2016. But the actor's lawyers claim that the gruesome scenes of damage - including broken chandeliers, glass strewn on the floor and red wine spilled on walls and carpets - are contrary to what police recall.

Two calls for help

Four different police officers visited the downtown apartment in downtown Los Angeles within two hours after the actress's friends called 911 (help desk) twice. The first two officers gave new statements last month, reiterating that they had inspected the $ 1,5 million apartment but found no injuries, vandalism or evidence of a crime.

Now, for the first time, footage has been released of another group of police officers turning on the cameras (wearing them on their uniforms) when they entered the former home of Herd and Depp late at night. The footage shows a neat hallway leading to the elegant kitchen and living room decorated with fresh flowers, lots of books, candles and candlesticks. Officers did not appear to have noticed anything suspicious, and the three-and-a-half-minute videos showed no obvious signs of damage, clutter or wine stains on floors or carpets. The video was published online on the Daily Mail portal.

Depp's lawyer, Adam Waldman, says the footage proves that there was no riot and that Amber's statement was false.

- Amber Heard and her friends described the chaotic, messy place of the crime, but recently videos were released by the police, which unequivocally prove that the apartment is completely undamaged and that their testimony is another grandiose lie. Said Waldman.

The former partner is preparing to face court again in the city of Fairfax, Virginia, where Depp is suing his ex-wife for $ 50 million over an article in the "Washington Post" in which the 34-year-old actress introduced herself as a victim of domestic violence.

Depp was not named in the article, but claims he lost the role of Captain Jack Sparrow due to a hint.

The actor is fighting to save his reputation, after the British High Court last year rejected a special defamation lawsuit over an article in the "Sun" newspaper from 2018, which marked him as a "bully against women". Judge Justice Nicole ruled that the description was "essentially true" and that the father of two, Depp, had attacked Hurd several times, causing her to fear for her life on three occasions.

There is no damage to the apartment

The incident on May 21, 2016 was registered as abuse, after Hurd gave a detailed statement describing how her ex-husband threw the phone in her face and pulled out a lock of her hair. The incident took place in Apartment No. 3 in the Eastern Columbia building, where Depp once had an entire floor with five adjoining apartments accessible by private elevator.

After Depp's bodyguards stopped the fight, Depp went to apartment number five where Heard had some things and damaged them before leaving the building. Hurd's attorneys showed photos of the scene in court, including broken photo frames, glass and wine spilled on the floor and carpets. Hurd and her best friend Rocky Pennington, an eyewitness to the alleged attack, described the apartment and how he carried out the attack.

- He was just hitting everything around with a bottle of wine. There was fruit, baskets, glass bottles and flowers on the floor - said Rocky, while in his statement Herd added:

- We have huge heavy candlesticks. They were broken on the floor. Fruit baskets on the kitchen island were scattered on the floor. There was fruit everywhere. The dishes with kitchen utensils were overturned. Everything was scattered. There was wine on the walls and floor.

But officers who arrived 15 minutes after the alleged attack, Tyler Hayden and Melissa Senz, a domestic violence specialist, said they searched both apartments but saw no Amber facial injuries or evidence of vandalism.

Police have testified three times about the incident, during the couple's divorce in 2016, at last year's defamation trial in the UK and in March.

Senz said she did not recognize the victim of violence, nor did she show any signs of violence. Hayden said there were no signs of vandalism at the scene. But they did not carry cameras and did not take minutes.

The other group of police officers, whose names have not been made public, had cameras when they arrived two hours later. The footage shows them walking to the apartment, the door being opened by Rocky's husband, and they enter because they want to make sure everything is in order. It shows people sitting on the bed and talking, and among them Amber and there are no traces of violence or vandalism. In the conversation you can hear them explaining that other police officers had come before, because there was a double call.

Amber and friends later claimed to have cleaned the glass and clutter, but no wine stains were seen anywhere. Depp's lawyers claim that now they finally have evidence that will prove the truth.
