The Minister of Health Venko Filipce announced that it is very likely that today more organ transplants will be performed from a dead young patient, with the consent of the family.
-If there are appropriate recipients, it will be possible to perform heart and kidney transplants. The parents of the deceased have already given their consent, it remains to find patients who would receive the organs. If a patient is found to have a heart transplant, the operation will be performed by the same medical team that was hired for the first heart transplant, which was performed several months ago. said Filipce.
The minister did not want to reveal more details about the cause of death of the young patient.
