MotoGP: Marquez wins race in Germany
Repsol Honda driver Mark Marquez came to his first victory in 19 months after celebrating in the eighth race of the MotoGP Championship, the German Grand Prix.
The eight-time world champion triumphed 11 times in a row at the Sachsenring, the eighth time in the royal class, and achieved his best result after suffering a broken arm at the opening of last season, which left him out of the track for nine months.
He recorded his 57th victory in Saxony in the strongest category, and the 83rd in his career.
Marquez crossed the finish line one-and-a-half seconds ahead of KTM Racing's Miguel Oliveira, while Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo was third on the podium.
Alex Rins, Jorge Martin, Takaaki Nakagami, Valentino Rossi and Luca Marini also scored points.
Quartararo now leads the overall standings with 131 points, 22 more than Zarco and 31 more than Miller. The MotoGP championship continues next weekend in Assen with the Dutch Grand Prix.
