The representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, stated today that the Russian Federation strongly condemns the "unprecedented attack" on Lebanon and its citizens and calls on all involved parties to show restraint in order to prevent further destabilization of the situation in the Middle East.

Pagers used by members of Hezbollah exploded simultaneously in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, and Hezbollah said today that the death toll from the pager blast rose to 12 after three more of the group's operatives succumbed to injuries, The Times of Israel reported.

Russia sees that incident "as another act of the hybrid war against Lebanon, in which thousands of innocent people died," she said, TASS reports.
