Monstat: 851 foreign companies in Montenegro, mostly from Serbia and Turkey

A total of 851 branches of foreign companies were registered in Montenegro last year, mostly owned by citizens of Serbia and Turkey, whose turnover was over 2,5 billion euros, according to the data of the Statistics Office (Monstat). According to the same data, 24,3 percent of business entities are foreign-owned from EU member countries, while 75,7 percent are from non-EU countries. Monstat announced that 179 branches owned by Serbian nationals achieved a turnover of around 718 million euros last year. Politics.

After Serbia, citizens of Turkey have the most branches, 58, and those companies last year had a turnover of almost 100 million euros, the RTCG portal reported. The next largest companies are from Bosnia and Herzegovina (33), Great Britain (32), Cyprus (25) and Croatia (22). Looking at countries, branches with capital from Serbia have the largest share in turnover, 25,4 percent, while their share in the total number of covered business entities is 21 percent, reports Tanjug.
